Recently, Mojang Studios and Hive Games jointly launched the first private Minecraft server specifically designed for Seattle Children’s Hospital. This innovative project aims to provide a “safe and monitored environment” for children to experience the game while staying in the hospital. Even if they can’t leave their rooms, they can still explore and interact in the virtual world.
虚拟医院,自由探索
According to the Seattle Children’s Hospital blog, the virtual hospital in Minecraft was designed by Dr. Henry Ou, an otolaryngologist at the hospital. The main goal of the project is to help children feel more comfortable and secure during their hospital stay. Through this server, children can not only explore the hospital in Minecraft but also participate in survival mode and various mini-games, ensuring fun for kids of different ages.
多语言支持,丰富游戏体验
The server supports over 10 languages and includes survival elements and mini-games. One of the mini-games is a parkour mode, where players need to reach a specific location within a limited time while avoiding other players acting as “hunters”. The survival mode allows all children to collaborate on a single server, enhancing their interactive experience.
无私贡献,三年开发历程
The project took several years to complete, with Mojang Studios and Hive Games contributing their time and effort without compensation, ensuring the development and construction of the server reached its best. This server is not only a therapeutic game but also aims to improve patients’ hospital experience, providing opportunities for socialization, education, and rehabilitation.
《我的世界》改变住院体验
Through this project, Mojang Studios and Hive Games have shown their commitment to using Minecraft as a tool for improving children’s hospital experience. By providing a virtual environment for children to explore and interact, they can alleviate the stress and boredom associated with hospital stays. This innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about healthcare and gaming.
